Many journalists use social media to promote their work, but beyond the promotional value of Twitter and Facebook are opportunities to improve your journalism. Angela Pacienza, Director of Online News at The Canadian Press, leads a discussion on how social media can help reporters and news directors find leads, contacts and information for use in their stories, all the while keeping them engaged with their audiences more directly than has ever been available before. Angela will show how to use tools like Tweetdeck and Hootsuite to effectively use the time you spend with social media. |

Lifetime Achievement Awards Awards Dinner will be held at Red River College, Princess Street Campus The RTDNA Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service and continued excellence during their careers in broadcast journalism. This year RTDNA will honour Alex Docking and Murray Blakely. Plus, the coveted 2011 RTDNA Awards will be presented as RTDNA Canada honours the best in electronic journalism in the Prairie Region.
